Famous Malayalam actor and director Prathap Pothen died in Chennai on Friday. He was 69 years old.
Confirming the passing of the actor Prathap Pothen in his flat situated on Kilpauk Garden Road, a police officer said according to starting reports he had passed from natural health causes.
The police have cordoned off the region as an enormous number of film personalities are supposed to show up to offer their final appreciation.
Actor Prathap Pothen was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Pothen had acted in more than 100 movies in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu other than coordinating a couple of super hit films.
The popular actor & director was known for his remarkable dialogue delivery style and has acted in various Tamil and Malayalam films with the highest level stars remembering Kamal Haasan for Varumaiyin Niram Sivappu, coordinated by the legend K Balachander.
Pothen additionally directs the hit movie Vetri Vizha featuring Haasan, among his other executive endeavours.

While mourning the death of Prathap Pothen, entertainer Kamal Hassan said Prathap Pothen looked into serious writing and craftsmanship in house motion pictures.
“I have seen how he was also adept at directing fast-paced movies when he directed ‘Vetrivizha’. My condolences”, the veteran actor Kamal Haasan said.
